What Finally Settled Rosie During Storms
Rosie is an eight-year-old shorthair who lives with us near Pattaya's Jomtien side. For the first few years she was fine, but the last two rainy seasons have been tough. Every thunderstorm sends her under the wardrobe, and fireworks at the beach festival set her off so badly she wouldn't eat for a day. I'm not a vet and I don't claim to have a cure, but a few things have helped.
Closing the bedroom curtains and running a fan for white noise made the biggest difference. I also started putting her dinner in the same spot each time a storm rolls in, so it becomes a routine rather than a scary moment. If she's still anxious for hours, the vet suggested we mention it at her next check-up rather than guess. The honest answer is that it's a slow process, not a switch.
