Rosie's first photo contest, and her attitude
I entered Rosie, my six-year-old Pomeranian, into a pet photo contest at a community event in Rawai last weekend. I thought she would look fluffy and adorable on the day. What I forgot is that Pomeranians have opinions about being told where to stand.
The photographer wanted her sitting still on a white cloth. Rosie stood up, sniffed the lens, and then turned her back on the entire crowd. The judges laughed. Somehow that became the photo everyone talked about.
She did not win first place, but she got a ribbon for Most Expressive, which she has already decided is her finest achievement. I am still not sure whether I am proud of her or embarrassed. Probably both.

Did the organizers give any tips on posing before judging, or was it all left up to the dog? I'd love to know for next time.
