Slow mornings and a rescue dog who needed time
Mimi came to us from a rescue group in Chonburi and spent her first three weeks under the bed. She is a mixed breed with a black patch on one ear. Loud sounds scared her, and so did my hands when I reached too quickly. The volunteer told me to let her come to me, so I did the boring things. I sat on the floor with a book, put her bowl in the same spot every morning and walked her at the same time each evening. Two months later she slept on my feet for the first time.
Rescue dogs are not a project you finish, and some days she still jumps at motorbikes, which is fine.

Did the rescue group offer a foster room or a quiet spot to start with? A place like that helps a lot in the first few weeks.
