  A cooling mat and a sun umbrella on the beach made the biggest difference for our dog. The shaded terrace worked well for midday breaks too.

  We had a similar problem with our pug at Cha-am last summer, the sand got hot enough to bother her paws within minutes. A small mat to put down on the ground saved us.
