The Day Pepsi Finally Saw a Proper Vet
I adopted Pepsi, a poodle who is about four and a half, from a rescue group in Rawai last spring, and somehow it took us until this year to take him to a proper clinic. He had been to a vet once for a lump check, but nobody had written down his vaccination history, so the new clinic near my condo in Chalong wanted to start from zero. Pepsi walked in with his tail tucked, leaned against my legs, and refused to look at the scale.
The vaccinations took less than a minute. He yelped, looked up at me as if I had planned it, and then accepted a treat from the nurse like nothing had happened. Watching him recover, I thought about how much of his life before us we will never know, and how little that matters now. He sleeps across my feet every night and seems to think the vet visit was my idea.
I have been thinking about keeping a notebook of his dates and doses. Rescued dogs deserve a clean record, and so do the people who love them.

Lumps are always the scary part for owners, so it's good to hear Pepsi got checked properly now. The vaccination record mix-up sounds very frustrating too. Hope the rest of his check-ups go smoothly and he's back to his bouncy self soon.

Thank you for writing this up, I've been meaning to take my own dog for a proper check-up and kept putting it off. Pepsi's story makes it sound like a big deal but also not scary. Hope the vaccination records are sorted out properly this time.
