Pooh Found Us on a Muddy Road in San Sai
I did not plan to adopt a dog this year. Then on a rainy Thursday, I took the back road near the San Sai market and a skinny, muddy little mixed-breed girl trotted right up to my car and sat down in front of the wheel, as if she had been waiting for me. I named her Pooh within the hour, because she was round, golden and very sure of herself.
She is about five and a bit now, and she has absolutely no interest in being a street dog again. She sleeps against my legs every night and follows me from the kitchen to the garden like a shadow. The vet said she is healthy, and my wife says she is spoiled. Both are true!
If you ever see a dog on a road looking for someone, stop. You might be the one she was waiting for. 🐾

Pooh sitting in front of the wheel like she was waiting for you is the sweetest thing. Glad she found you on that muddy road.

I'll try the same calm approach with my own dog next time we're out.

Did you take her to a vet right away for a check-up, or did you wait until the first week settled down? I'm wondering what the first steps were after finding a stray in the rain.

We found our cat the same way, sitting on the doorstep like she had an appointment.
