Pancake, the scissors and a very long afternoon
Pancake is a Thai Ridgeback with a golden coat and the posture of a very serious bodyguard. He's nearly five, and he has never once let me touch his ears without a complaint. So when I booked him in for a grooming session at a little shop near Ao Nang, I thought the worst that could happen was a bit of fur on my shirt.
I was wrong. The groomer got through the first half without trouble, but when she reached his ears, Pancake decided this was an outrage. He backed under the table, sat down with his paws crossed, and looked at me as if I had arranged the whole thing to humiliate him. The groomer laughed so hard she had to put the scissors down.
He came home looking like a proper gentleman, with a neat trim and a ribbon I didn't ask for. He still hasn't forgiven me. I have it on good authority that he has told the neighbour's cat everything.

I'm going to try the same approach with my dog next time we go for a trim.

ถ้าพาไปตัดขนแนะนำให้ไปช่วงเช้าครับ คนน้อย หมาจะไม่เครียดเท่าไหร่ แล้วก็อย่าลืมพกขนมไปด้วยนะคะ

If you're going to a grooming shop, bring a familiar blanket or toy so your dog has something to lean on. Asking them to take short breaks also makes the session much calmer.
