Our Dog Pla Versus the New Sofa

We bought a grey velvet sofa in August, and I had a good feeling about it. Pla, our poodle, had other ideas. Within a week he had discovered that the back cushion made a perfect slide, and that the arm was just the right height for resting his chin while he watched us eat dinner.

I tried everything. Blankets, a spray bottle, a stern voice, even turning the sofa to face the wall. Nothing lasted. My husband says it is a battle of wills and that Pla is winning, which is absolutely true.

Last Tuesday I came home to find the sofa covered in white fur and Pla sitting on top like a king. He looked very pleased with himself, so I gave up and took a photo instead.
