Moving a Husky Into a Condo: Lessons Learned
We moved into a condo in Chatuchak in August, and Fluffy, our ten-year-old Siberian Husky, had opinions about the lift. The first thing I learned: the building rules matter more than the sales brochure. Ours asked for pets to use the service lift, so Fluffy rode up and down with the bags while we took the main one.
Lift etiquette is real. Keep the leash short, hold the door, and do not let a big dog jump on anyone in a crowded lift. Fluffy is gentle but enormous, and one neighbour stepped back so fast she nearly tripped. I now wait for an empty lift before we go down.
Neighbours were kinder than I expected. Two of them asked about his name on day one, and one gave us a card for a dog walker on the ground floor.
Tip: check the pet registration form before you book the removal truck. We needed a second copy of his vaccination record for the juristic office, and it took a morning to find.
