Milo the lovebird and the balcony neighbours
Milo is a peach-faced lovebird, four years old, and she has decided that our balcony belongs to her. Every morning she sits on the railing and shouts at anyone who walks past, which makes the neighbours either laugh or pretend they didn't hear.
The funny part is that she has become friends with the sparrows that land on the plant pots. She chirps at them, they chirp back, and after a few weeks they started coming when she called. My neighbour upstairs says her own bird now wants to join the club too.
Milo is not a fan of the vacuum cleaner or the washing machine spin cycle, so we keep those for when she is in her cage. Otherwise, she's the easiest housemate I have ever had, and she knows exactly when it is time for her millet.
