Looking after Pang as she slows down a little
Pang is my Persian girl, and at three and a half she is still young for a cat. But my vet told me that long-haired cats start needing more help earlier than people expect, so I have been changing things little by little. We live in a condo in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, with a balcony that gets very hot in the afternoon.
The first change was her food. She now gets smaller meals more often, and I put a wide, shallow bowl on a low stool so she doesn't have to stretch her neck. Her litter tray has lower sides too, because stepping over high edges is harder for her now.
Brushing matters more than ever. Persians tangle easily, and grooming gives me a chance to check her eyes, teeth and weight. Every Sunday we do a slow twenty-minute session with her favorite soft brush and a treat at the end.
She still sleeps on my pillow and complains loudly when the fan is off. Honestly, she is my favorite roommate.
