Latte Went Missing for Three Hours
My Shiba Latte is usually the calmest dog on our soi in Si Racha, so when I opened the gate on Sunday morning and found it empty, my heart dropped. I searched every lane, asked the noodle shop lady, and walked to the fish market twice. Nothing.
Then my neighbour's son called from the far end of the village. A fox-red dog was sitting outside a closed pharmacy and refusing to move. Latte was dusty and thirsty but completely fine, wagging like nothing had happened. I've bought a new latch and a tag with my number on it. Lesson learned, and the boy got a big bag of treats.

I'm going to try this with my pup next time we're out. 😅

Really glad you posted this. Stories like this make me check my own gate every single morning.

Next time our pup gets restless at home, I'll give this a go. Writing down your steps is a smart idea too.

Calmest dog on the soi, my foot. Three hours of wandering around and I bet she came home looking extremely pleased with herself. I'm guessing the fish market had a lot to do with it. Hopefully she's grounded for at least a week 😄

How did you end up finding Latte in the end? I'd probably have panicked and gone straight to the nearest police box. Did the neighbours help you search, or did you do the lanes alone? Those three hours must have felt like forever.

Glad Latte found her way back. Three hours is a long time to be worried, and that shiba must have given you a real scare.
