Biscuit and the hot pavement in Rayong

CBChutikan Bunnag27 July 2026·1 min read

Living in Muang Rayong means the afternoon sun turns every pavement into a frying pan, and Biscuit has made it very clear she is not impressed. She is a Domestic Shorthair, almost four years old, and she likes to walk with me to the night market when it is cooler.

First time we went out at noon, she lifted her paws one at a time and gave me a look that could cut glass. Now I carry a small water bottle and we go out only after sunset, or in the early morning before the sun gets strong.

I also keep a cool gel mat by the window and a wet towel on the balcony, so she can choose where to rest. She still thinks I am the most ridiculous human alive, but at least she walks now without complaining.

I can imagine how frustrating it is when your cat clearly refuses to walk on hot pavement. Maybe the cooler evenings will make the night market walks easier for both of you.
