Kiwi and the tick that tried to move in

Kiwi is our ten-year-old Shiba Inu, and he has always been a little dramatic about baths. When flea and tick season arrived in Bangkok this year, I found a tick hiding behind his ear. I felt dizzy just looking at it, but the vet removed it in a minute while Kiwi complained loudly, as if he were the one in pain.

Since then I check him every evening after our walk around the Sathorn park. I run my fingers along his neck, belly and between his toes. Kiwi tolerates this with the patience of an old diplomat. He now wears his preventive collar too, which he seems to think is a fashion accessory. I have decided to let him believe it.
