A Thank You to the Vet Who Stayed Late for Kanom

Kanom is my cockatiel, a grey bird with a yellow face who whistles every morning at six. Last spring she stopped eating properly and got very puffed up, so I rushed her to a vet clinic near my condo on Sukhumvit.

The vet on duty that night was a young woman who did not rush us. She kept Kanom warm under a lamp, explained what she was checking, and called me twice to update me on the results. She also stayed an extra forty minutes after her shift to make sure Kanom was eating and drinking on her own before we left.

Kanom is whistling again now, louder than ever. I wrote this down so I remember to say thank you properly, and also to tell other bird owners that good vets do exist in this city.
