A checklist for flying with a Thai Ridgeback to Milan
Rain is flying with us to Milan next month and I am absolutely thrilled, even if the paperwork has me sweating. She is a Thai Ridgeback, almost five, with a ridge along her back that I love to stroke. Here is my checklist so far: health certificate from the vet in Sathorn, check the airline's pet policy twice, book a direct flight if possible, buy a hard-sided crate that fits the size rules, and freeze a few treats for the trip. I also practised putting her in the crate every night for a week, with a blanket she likes.
Tip for anyone doing this: arrive at the cargo terminal earlier than you think, because the officers take their time with paperwork. Keep copies of everything in a plastic folder. I cannot wait to see Rain running through the Italian countryside. Wish us luck.

We went through the same paperwork panic with our dog for a trip abroad, and the vet visit stressed me out the most. Good luck with Rain, I hope the flight goes better than you're expecting.
