Nakara Villas & Glamping

Nakara Villas & Glamping is a boutique countryside retreat in Ban Nakhuang, just outside Udon Thani. It was started in 2009 as a private rural home by the Thai-English hosts Shanana and David and grew into a nature-oriented stay with an Isan feel.

Accommodation includes two traditional teak villas, Villa Naga and Villa Nakee, each with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living area and garden access. There are also 6-metre-high glass A-frame chalets and 7-metre geodesic glamping domes with panoramic windows, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and private decks with spa tubs.

The grounds have tropical gardens, rice paddies, ponds and a lake, an outdoor infinity pool and private BBQ areas. A garden café serves Nakara Coffee made from locally grown Udon Thani Robusta beans, along with home-cooked Thai and Isan meals.

The resort sits in quiet countryside with open rice fields, sunflower patches, ponds and Nakara Lake, a clear break from the busy city centre.

The resort is reached by paved secondary roads leading out of Udon Thani city towards Ban Nakhuang. A rental car or the Grab app from downtown Udon Thani is recommended, as no songthaew route runs to the gate. Free private parking is available on site.
