Dogs and cats are welcome.

The pet fee is usually about THB 500 per night, or THB 1,500 per pet per trip, depending on the booking package or season. Some direct packages waive or bundle the fee.

Pets stay inside the guest villas and must not be left unattended there. The resort provides pet bowls, pet beds, waste bags, dog towels and dog shampoo.

More than one pet per villa is allowed with prior notice; confirm the number with the resort. Dogs may be on the open lawns, garden paths, beach zones and outdoor restaurant seating when accompanied by their owner.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff.

The Mak Trat (เดอะ หมาก ตราด) is a modern, eco-boutique villa resort set in tropical vegetation.

Accommodation is in standalone, thatched-roof modern sala and sea-view villas with spacious private verandas or balconies, air conditioning, open-concept bathrooms, safes and modern entertainment systems.

Facilities include an outdoor beachfront infinity pool, a private sandy beach area, an open-air beachfront restaurant (All Day Chaolay), two bars and lounges, and massage and spa pavilions. Complimentary sea kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling gear are available to guests.

Surroundings

The resort is on an uncrowded, serene island with coconut palm groves, quiet roads and calm waters.

Famous landmarks nearby:

  • Ao Tan Beach (about 1.5 km).
  • Ao Soun Yai Beach (about 2.1–2.5 km).
  • Somchai's Love Garden (about 2 km): also called the Kingdom of Somchai's Affection.
  • Cinnamon Scenic Boardwalk (a short drive away).

Getting there

The address is 111, Tambon Ko Mak, Amphoe Ko Kut, Trat 23120. To reach Trat, travel by car, bus or domestic flight into Trat Airport (TDX).

From the mainland, head to Laem Ngop Pier (Krom Luang Pier) or Laem Sok Pier in Trat. If you drive, leave the car in a guarded pier car park for about 50–100 THB a day. Take a passenger speedboat or ferry from the pier to Ko Mak, about 45 to 60 minutes, usually arriving at Ao Nid Pier or the resort's arrival pontoon. The resort provides a shuttle from the Ko Mak pier directly to the property.

Free private on-site parking is available for scooters, golf carts and local island vehicles.
