Bringing your pet

Dogs aren't confirmed here as the viewpoints are private property behind a cash gate with no published pet rule, so ask before you climb (Visit Thailand Today).

  • Terrain: Around 320 concrete steps lead to the ticket counter, then a steeper, rough path continues to Viewpoint 3.
  • Safety: The rock is slippery after rain and the path down has no lights after sunset.
  • Heat & water: The heat gets fierce by mid-morning, so go early and carry plenty of water.
  • Animals on site: Monkeys live on the island, so keep snacks packed away and your dog close.
  • Entry & fees: About 50 THB for Viewpoints 1 and 2 and 20 THB for 3, cash, roughly 06:00–19:30.

About

Phi Phi Viewpoint is a set of three lookouts on one trail above Ton Sai village on Koh Phi Phi Don. Viewpoint 2, about 180 m up, gives the classic view of Ton Sai and Loh Dalum bays almost touching across the isthmus; Viewpoint 3 is 15 minutes further on rough trail. Allow 30 to 45 minutes up; early morning is quietest.

Good to know: the viewpoints are private land with a cash fee, about 50 THB for Viewpoints 1 and 2 and around 20 THB for 3. Hours are roughly 06:00 to 19:30. Viewpoint 2 has a café and toilets.

Getting there

Take a ferry to Ton Sai Pier on Phi Phi Don from Krabi or Phuket (about two hours); some Phuket tour boats only take pets in a bag or carrier, so check first. From the pier or Loh Dalum, follow the blue viewpoint signs through the village, about 11 minutes on foot; the stairs start just past the Blu Monkey Hotel, on the left.
