When the new puppy finally met Gyoza
When we brought home a golden retriever puppy, Gyoza looked at him as if we had made a terrible mistake. Gyoza is a Golden himself, gentle and a bit lazy, and he'd had the house to himself for four years. Our first week was mostly separate rooms, baby gates and me hovering nervously in the hallway.
What worked best was slow introductions. We walked both dogs on leads at the park, kept the sessions short, and gave treats for calm behaviour. Gyoza eventually started nudging the puppy with his nose, and by week three the two were sharing the same dog bed. My honest advice: don't expect instant love, and give the older dog a quiet corner where the puppy can't follow him.

Oh no, that terrible mistake look is hilarious. Bobo did the exact same thing when Bean came home.
