Teaching My Schnauzer to Swim at Bang Khae Pool

Jasper is a six-year-old Schnauzer who has never trusted water, and my wife insisted she should learn to swim before our trip to Hua Hin. I was skeptical. The first lesson was basically me standing in the shallow end holding a floating toy while Jasper gave me the look of a betrayed teenager.

By the third session she was paddling in a circle, and by the fifth she stood on the steps, wagged, and jumped in on her own. Schnauzers have a beard that gets very wet, so I rinse her with a towel afterward and dry the beard completely to avoid smell.

She still prefers the sofa to the pool, but she now swims like a champion. Best of all, she trusts me more than ever.
