Snow's Birthday on Koh Samui, Quick Tips for Island Pets

Snow turned almost five this week, and we celebrated on Koh Samui with a short walk on the beach and a bowl of plain chicken for dinner. He is a mixed breed with a white coat and a very soft nature, and he has been part of our family since he was a puppy from a neighbour's litter.

A few tips from our birthday. Keep the party short, because dogs get tired easily in heat. Use dog-safe treats and check the ingredients. Give fresh water often, and keep the cake away from the table edge. If your dog is nervous with visitors, a quiet corner with a blanket works well.

Snow slept in his bed for the rest of the day, which I think was the best present he could have wanted.
