Rusty goes to the beach and mostly naps

We are based in Thonglor, so a weekend trip to the sea is usually a long drive with a dog who hates car rides. Rusty is ten years old, a Chihuahua with a very strong opinion about everything, and he has never been to the beach before.

We picked Hua Hin because it is about three hours away and has pet-friendly hotel rooms. We walked on the sand early in the morning, when it was cool and quiet, and he wore a light jacket because the wind was strong. He stayed in the shade for most of the afternoon.

My practical advice: bring fresh water, a towel for his paws, and a small bag of his usual food, because hot sand and changes in diet can upset older dogs. Rusty was tired and happy by Sunday, and he slept in the car all the way back.
