Nungning's first waterfall hike near Chiang Mai

Nungning is four months old and has already decided that every hill in Chiang Mai belongs to him. Last Saturday we drove out to a waterfall near Doi Suthep with a backpack full of water and treats. He is a mixed breed, mostly brown and white, with ears that flop in opposite directions, and he took the first slope like a rocket.

The path was muddy from the rain, and he slid, splashed and sniffed every leaf. At the bottom pool he jumped in before I could say anything. I laughed so hard I nearly dropped the leash.

On the way home he slept across my lap with a muddy paw on my bag. Next trip I want to go further up the trail.
