Nemo Versus the Other Four Pets in Our Samui House

Nemo is a six-and-a-half-year-old British Shorthair who thinks he is the boss of the house. We live on Koh Samui with four other animals, two cats, a rescue dog and a very opinionated tortoise, so the mornings are noisy. Nemo's routine is simple. He waits by the kitchen door until the other cats are fed, then he eats their food too, while looking very innocent.

The rescue dog, Rum, followed him everywhere for a month and got nothing but stern looks in return. The tortoise only took ten minutes to walk past the cat tray, and Nemo has never recovered from that insult. We have one rule now, which is that everyone gets a bowl and nobody argues in front of the guests.

I do love the chaos, honestly. When it all goes quiet at night, I miss the noise.
