Namtarn Finally Trusts Me After Two Years
When we first brought Namtarn home from the rescue, she spent the whole weekend hiding under our bed and growling at the ceiling fan. Our Sathorn condo felt like a prison to her, and honestly I felt like a failed dog mum.
The breakthrough came by accident. One morning I was sitting on the floor reading the newspaper, and she crept out, sniffed my shoe and then lay down right beside my knee. I didn't move a muscle for almost an hour. Two years later, she still remembers that moment and comes to sit on my feet every single day.
She is eight and a half now, a French Bulldog with a snorting laugh and a very dramatic way of begging for biscuits. She still gets nervous around strangers, so we keep walks short and quiet. Anyone who adopts an anxious rescue, please be patient. The trust is worth every minute.
