Mushi and the Great Sock Heist
Every morning at six, Mushi, my nearly three-year-old Dachshund, performs his ritual. He trots to the bedroom, grabs the first sock he finds on the floor, and parades it around the living room like an Olympic champion. Then he lies down with the sock between his paws and stares at me until I say his name.
I have tried hiding the laundry, buying new toys, even ignoring him. Nothing works. Last week he carried a sock into the lift lobby, and our neighbour laughed so hard she had to sit down.
My wife says he is a funny little loaf with legs. I say he is a professional. Mushi, please leave my socks alone.
