Lek Turns Ten: A Birthday Plan That Actually Worked
Lek turned ten this month, and for the first time we planned a birthday that was about her comfort rather than our photos. She is a Poodle with grey around the muzzle and a very clear idea of what she likes. We kept the party small: one walk in the morning, a quiet afternoon at home, and a treat that was made for dogs.
I bought a cake from a bakery that makes them for pets, with no sugar and no chocolate, and we gave her a small slice in the evening. She ate it slowly, then went back to her bed by the air-con. We skipped the visitors, because she gets tired quickly now.
My advice: plan around what your dog enjoys, not what looks good online. Lek was happiest with a nap and a sausage.

Ten is a big age, and I love that you planned the day around her comfort. A quieter birthday sounds like the best gift for an older Poodle.
