Kiwi's First Beach Weekend in Chonburi, Sand Everywhere

We took Kiwi to Jomtien for her first proper beach weekend, and she has not stopped talking about it since. Kiwi is a four-year-old French Bulldog with a very loud snort and a complete lack of interest in swimming. The sand was the real surprise. She rolled in it, sneezed in it, and then tried to bring a shell back to the room in her mouth.

We learned fast that a French Bulldog in the sun needs shade and water every half hour. We set up our umbrella on the far side of the beach, carried a small cool pack in the bag, and kept our walks to the early morning and the late afternoon. She spent the afternoons on a towel under the tree, watching the tourists go past like a little king.

Next time we are going to Hua Hin, where the beach is quieter and the sea is calmer. She will still refuse to get wet, I am sure, but she will look very pleased about it.
