A Midnight Trip to the Animal Hospital With Fanta

NSNuntiya Sukprasert1 October 2026·1 min read

At half past eleven one night, Fanta started breathing fast and refused her dinner. She is a nearly three-year-old Siberian Husky, and she is usually the first to demand supper, so I knew something was off. My son drove me to the nearest 24-hour animal hospital in Pak Kret, and we arrived with a towel and a half-packed bag, feeling a bit silly and very worried.

The waiting room was calm and quiet. A nurse asked me plain questions: when it started, whether she had eaten, whether she had vomited, and what she had been doing that day. I would suggest writing those answers down before you go, because the staff work fast and you will forget half of it in the panic. Fanta was examined and cared for, and the vet explained what to watch for over the next day.

She is back to her bossy self now, stealing socks from the laundry basket. I keep a list of the nearest hospitals on my phone and a copy of her medical record in my bag. It was not a fun night, but being prepared made it much easier.

Tip from my own late-night scares: save the nearest 24-hour clinic in your phone before you need it. Also jot down when the breathing started and what she ate that day, because the vet will ask. It makes the trip much calmer.

Writing down when the symptoms started helped us a lot when we took Prada in too.

So Fanta's dramatic about dinner too? Nala would respect the attitude.

Glad there was a 24-hour clinic close by. That's the kind of place you hope exists when it happens at midnight.

Oh no, the midnight drive is the worst part. Huskies get dramatic when they skip a meal, so I'm glad you didn't wait it out. Hope Fanta is back to begging for food by now.

I'm saving the 24-hour clinic in my phone tonight, should have done that ages ago. Gucci is a corgi who will eat anything on the floor, so I'll be watching him closely. Thanks for writing it up so calmly.

Our Pang had a similar late-night scare, so I completely understand the panic 😟

Сохраните заранее в телефоне номер ближайшей круглосуточной клиники, в такие моменты время очень важно. Берите с собой запись того, что питомец ел и когда, это сильно помогает врачу.
