A Midnight Drive With Moo to the Animal Hospital
Moo is a four-and-a-half-year-old bearded dragon, and she does not do drama. So when she stopped eating and lay flat on her warm rock for hours, I knew something was off. Around midnight I wrapped her in a towel and drove across Sathorn to the 24-hour animal hospital. The waiting room had a sleepy beagle and a man holding a parrot in a cardboard box. The vet asked about her lamp and diet, then gave me a plan. Driving home through empty streets, I kept thinking how much I rely on her calm company.
