A birthday party for a cat who only cares about tuna
Cappuccino is three and a half months old this week, which in cat years makes him a very small professional. I decided he deserved a birthday party anyway. He is a domestic shorthair with a brown and cream coat, and he is very much a boy cat: loud, confident and completely unbothered by anyone's plans.
I bought a small tuna cake from the pet shop near my Sukhumvit apartment, plus a tiny paper hat that he wore for exactly four seconds. Then he jumped onto the table, knocked over a candle and sat on the cake. Nobody was hurt, but the cake was no longer a cake.
My friends from work came over with toys, which he ignored in favor of the cardboard box they came in. I think that is the most cat thing that has ever happened in my apartment.
By the end of the night he was asleep on my laptop, purring like a small motorbike. Happy birthday, Cappuccino. Next year you can choose the menu.
